Snow White

Once upon a time, there was a beautiful girl called Snow White.

She had black hair, white skin, and red lips.

She was very kind and happy.

Snow White lived with her stepmother, the Queen.

The Queen was beautiful but she was not kind.

She had a magic mirror on the wall.

Every day, the Queen looked in the mirror and asked, "Mirror, mirror on the wall, who is the most beautiful of all?"

The mirror always answered, "You are the most beautiful, my Queen."

The Queen was happy when she heard this.

But Snow White was growing up and becoming more beautiful every day.

One morning, the Queen asked her question again.

But this time, the mirror gave a different answer.

"You are beautiful, my Queen, but Snow White is more beautiful than you."

The Queen was very angry.

Her face became red and her eyes became dark.

She did not want anyone to be more beautiful than her.

The Queen called a man who worked for her.

His name was the Hunter.

"Take Snow White into the forest," the Queen said.

"Kill her there. I do not want to see her again."

The Hunter was a good man.

He did not want to hurt Snow White, but he was afraid of the Queen.

He took Snow White into the deep, dark forest.

Snow White was happy because she loved walking in nature.

"Why are we going so far?" Snow White asked.

The Hunter looked at her kind face and could not do what the Queen wanted.

"Snow White," he said sadly, "the Queen wants me to kill you because you are more beautiful than her.

But I cannot do it. You must run away and never come back."

Snow White was very scared.

She started to cry, but she understood that the Hunter was trying to help her.

"Thank you for saving my life," she said.

"I will run away and hide."

Snow White ran deeper into the forest.

She ran for a long time until she could not run anymore.

She was tired, hungry, and lost.

As the sun was going down, Snow White saw a small house between the trees.

The house was very small and very clean.

She knocked on the door, but nobody answered.

She opened the door and went inside.

Everything in the house was small.

There were seven small chairs around a small table.

There were seven small plates with seven small cups.

Upstairs, there were seven small beds.

"The people who live here must be very small," Snow White thought.

She was very hungry, so she ate a little food from each plate.

She was very tired, so she lay down on the beds.

They were so comfortable that she fell asleep.

When it was dark, seven small men came home.

They were dwarfs who worked in the mountains, looking for gold and diamonds.

"Someone has been in our house!" said the first dwarf.

"Someone has eaten our food!" said the second dwarf.

"Someone is sleeping in our beds!" said the third dwarf.

They all looked at Snow White sleeping peacefully.

She looked so beautiful and kind that they did not want to wake her up.

In the morning, Snow White woke up and saw the seven dwarfs looking at her.

"Please do not be afraid," said the oldest dwarf.

"We will not hurt you. But why are you here?"

Snow White told them her story.

The dwarfs felt sorry for her.

"You can stay with us," they said.

"But you must be careful. The Queen will try to find you."

Snow White was very happy.

She cleaned the house, cooked food, and took care of the dwarfs.

The dwarfs worked in the mountains during the day and came home in the evening.

They all lived happily together for many months.

But the Queen still asked her mirror the same question every day.

"Mirror, mirror on the wall, who is the most beautiful of all?"

One day, the mirror answered, "You are beautiful, my Queen, but Snow White is still alive.

She lives with seven dwarfs in the forest, and she is still more beautiful than you."

The Queen was furious.

She thought Snow White was dead, but now she knew the Hunter had not killed her.

"I will kill Snow White myself," the Queen said.

The Queen was also a witch.

She used magic to change how she looked.

She became an old woman with grey hair and old clothes.

She put poison in a beautiful red apple.

The apple looked delicious, but it would make anyone who ate it sleep forever.

The Queen went to the forest and found the small house.

"Beautiful apples! Sweet apples!" she called outside the house.

Snow White looked out of the window.

She saw a kind old woman with a basket of red apples.

"Those apples look delicious," Snow White said.

"They are the best apples in the world," said the Queen in her old woman's voice.

"Here, try one for free."

Snow White remembered what the dwarfs told her about being careful.

But the old woman looked so kind, and the apple looked so good.

"Just one bite," Snow White thought.

She took the apple and bit it.

Immediately, she fell down and stopped moving.

She was not dead, but she was in a deep sleep.

The Queen laughed and ran back to her castle.

When the seven dwarfs came home that evening, they found Snow White on the floor.

"Snow White! Snow White!" they called, but she did not wake up.

The dwarfs were very sad.

They could see that Snow White was still breathing, but they could not wake her up.

"She is so beautiful," they said.

"We cannot put her in the ground."

They made a beautiful glass bed and put Snow White inside it.

They carried the glass bed to a hill in the forest where flowers grew all around.

Every day, the dwarfs came to visit Snow White and put fresh flowers around her bed.

Many people heard about the beautiful girl who slept in the glass bed.

They came from far away to see her.

One day, a young prince was riding through the forest.

He saw the glass bed and the beautiful girl inside.

"Who is this?" he asked the dwarfs.

They told him Snow White's story.

The prince looked at Snow White and felt love in his heart.

"She is the most beautiful person I have ever seen," he said.

"May I kiss her?"

The dwarfs said yes.

The prince opened the glass bed and gently kissed Snow White.

Suddenly, Snow White opened her eyes.

The kiss of true love had broken the poison's spell.

"Where am I?" Snow White asked.

"You are safe," said the prince.

"I am Prince David. Will you marry me?"

Snow White looked at the kind prince and felt love in her heart too.

"Yes," she said. "I will marry you."

The seven dwarfs were so happy that Snow White was alive.

They danced and sang.

Snow White and Prince David had a big wedding.

The seven dwarfs were special guests at the wedding.

The Queen asked her mirror one more time, "Mirror, mirror on the wall, who is the most beautiful of all?"

The mirror answered, "Snow White is the most beautiful of all, and now she is also the happiest."

When the Queen heard this, she was so angry that she broke the mirror.

But breaking the mirror could not change the truth.

Snow White and Prince David lived happily ever after in their castle.

Sometimes they visited the seven dwarfs in the forest, and they all remained good friends forever.

The small house in the forest became a place where people came to remember that kindness and love are more powerful than jealousy and hate.

And they all lived happily ever after.
